Barocco Astrale is a site-specific immersive installation created for the dome of the Planetarium of the Città della Scienza in Naples.

Through a 360° video projection system, the works of Luca Giordano are digitally reinterpreted and animated within an enveloping space where light and sound merge into a single sensory experience.

The project employs spherical videomapping, three-dimensional elaborations, and an original sound compositionthat intertwines Baroque music, electronic textures, and cosmic frequencies recorded from deep space.

The planetarium dome thus becomes a fluid dimension in which Giordano’s painting expands, moves, and breathes, transforming into luminous energy and motion.

Barocco Astrale is a bridge between art and science, between past and future, between matter and light. Baroque figures dissolve like constellations, colors turn into vibrations, and forms move to the rhythm of the stars. The viewer is immersed in a cosmic landscape where the Baroque meets the universe, and where vision becomes experience, contemplation, and inner journey.
