AIDA AND THE MAGIC RUN
THE MACERATA OPERA FESTIVAL VIDEO GAME
In 2021, Imaginarium designed the video game AIDA AND THE MAGIC RUN for the centenary of the Macerata Opera Festival's first staged opera, Aida, by Giuseppe Verdi!
A game that was born from drawing on paper and transformed into pixel art, thanks to @pixel_salvaje, retracing the charm of the atmospheres of the 80s arcades and consoles, so much back in fashion in our days. A space of electronic and digital entertainment, which through psychedelic colors and adventurous settings, transports us to the epicness of Giuseppe Verdi's music, obviously reinterpreted in 8bit!
THE CONCEPT
Step into the shoes of the protagonist Aida and experience a magical pixel adventure in the land of the pharaohs, to the legendary notes of Giuseppe Verdi!
Run for the applause of the audience at the Macerata Sferisterio, escaping the envious Amneris in Pharaoh's palace, avoiding the fire of the Temple of Vulcan, dribing the palace servants with menacing vacuum cleaners, avoiding the fury of Isis' demons on the banks of Nile, sneaking through the tunnels of the crypt haunted by spirits and mad mummies, after freeing the Ethiopian people imprisoned in mad Thebes!
Collect the golden scarabs, discover the way to the stage, and dive into the arms of the beloved Radames!
