WERTHER

AS.LI.CO. TEATRO SOCIALE DI COMO

VIDEO MAPPING

In 2020, Imaginarium took care of the visual part of the new staging of WERTHER by Jules Massenet, for Teatro Sociale di Como (As.Li.Co.), under the direction of M° Francesco Pasqualetti, directed by Stefano Vizioli, sets by Emanuele Sinisi and the costumes of Anna Maria Heinreich. A co-production involving the Theaters of OperaLombardia, the Teatro Comunale Foundation of Modena, the Theaters Foundation of Reggio Emilia, the Teatro Verdi Foundation of Pisa, the Teatro Grande of Brescia, the Teatro Comunale of Ferrara.

A very particular project, characterized by stylistic research of the visuals linked to an ancient aesthetic, to the fascination of photography of the early twentieth century, with some forays into a more purely "digital" art that is revised and corrected to make the contents homogeneous and in line with the directing and scenographic idea, especially in a context in which it was necessary to discover alternative solutions to the difficulties and limits imposed by Covid.

"With Emanuele Sinisi, we imagined a large white sheet crumpled at the top by a nervous hand, a sheet that sometimes contains words that are put together and taken apart, stained by a dripping ink that becomes tears or blood, a scenographic attempt to relate to the epistolary style of the original German source," says the director Stefano Vizioli "little tools and the strength of the gesture, a gesture "from the Covid period," hopefully consistent with the truth of the feelings of the characters. The work with the Imaginarium group completes some topical points of the score with evocative moving images. The dry style characterizes the period costumes of Anna Maria Heinreich...".
