LUCREZIA FOREVER!
LUCCA COMICS & GAMES
THE SET DESIGN AND ANIMATIONS
In 2020 Imaginarium explored the world of comics within the Lucca Comics & Games program with a set design and animation project destined for the first staging of LUCREZIA FOREVER!, a show of the Graphic Novel Theatre section of the Lucca event, inspired by the character created by Silvia Ziche, with direction and dramaturgy by Francesco Niccolini and the participation (in the role of the mythical Lucrezia) of Amanda Sandrelli.
Produced by Lucca's Teatro del Giglio, which hosted a preview/study, and Lucca Crea, LUCREZIA FOREVER! Called for a straightforward set design, with the creation of a few material elements reminiscent of objects from the protagonist's home, to instead leave room for a complex project of visuals, illustrative compositions, and animations using Silvia Ziche's original and repertoire materials.
IL BOZZETTO DI SCENA
To tell the story of the contemporary female world drawn by Silvia Ziche, in a mix of self-mockery, awareness, tenderness, and realism, we immediately worked on the concept of interaction between actor and stage, giving life to what we called "monologue not monologue." Actress Amanda Sandrelli is alone on stage, but in reality, the dramaturgy catapults her into a situation full of "virtual" characters with whom she can interact throughout the play: the portrait of her grandmother, the ghost of one of her exes, the genie in the lamp!
