4 ELEMENTS, from an idea by Francesca Pasquinucci and Davide Giannoni of Imaginarium
Studio, together with pianist Sun Hee You, is a project for piano and
video mapping, with Chopin, Casella, Liszt, Debussy, Vacchi, and Hyung-Ki Joo music.
A dreamlike, enchanted, surreal journey full of legendary anecdotes and references to the
science and philosophy to discover the incredible connections between the 4 elements (fire,
water, air, earth) and the human being to offer the public food for thought
artistic on the fundamental theme of the loss of environmental awareness.
4 ELEMENTS IN MARRACK
THE CONCEPT
Nature is, at the same time, the "container" of animal and human life and the "content" biological.
Plants (and water, air, Earth), animals, and man are scientifically placed upon
the same level of importance, but over the centuries, man, eager for short-term riches
the term has radically changed its relationship with this dimension
thinking of himself and placing himself on a higher podium than the other two elements and placing
immeasurable actions are underway, devastating the primordial ideal of transcendence of Nature
itself.
4 ELEMENTS is an opportunity to speak to a heterogeneous audience with the tools
of musical harmony, which brings us back to the concept of natural harmony and harmony between
elements, and visual poetry, to raise awareness of the future (and the
present) of man and our spectacular planet Earth.
The chapters of 4 ELEMENTS are amalgamated by the "sounds" of the captured gravitational waves
by VIRGO and provided by EGO European Gravitational Observatory of Cascina, partner
scientific of the project.
THE CHAPTERS OF 4 ELEMENTS
CHAPTER 1
FIRE
C. DEBUSSY - Feux D'Artifice
The destructive and creative fire of the Heraclitean "BECOMING" is one of the arches of the cosmos.
And if for Empedocles fire is one of the four "roots" of the earthly tree, for Heraclitus
fire is logos, the origin of the Whole.
The masculine fire of the warrior and the philosopher is destroyer and creator with the same
will to power over the things of the World, while the feminine fire is
tamed by love.
In this first chapter we are faced with the ending, or the real "end".
We find ourselves suspended in the cosmos, in the guise of a virtuous traveler who finds himself
helpless spectator of the explosion of his planet.
A physical and emotional destruction: human consciousness lost.
CHAPTER 1BIS
FIRE

Oblivion turns into an epic flashback of civilization.
What have we lost with the undoing of consciousness?
What symbols, feelings, ancient connections, readings and looks, we have
abandoned?
CHAPTER 2
WATER
F. CHOPIN - Barcarolle Op. 60
Water as a symbol of REBIRTH and MEMORY.
A human life that restarts from a scientific, biological memory. The water like
chemistry of the elements, as the invention and fusion of every element ever known,
useful for the restart of the natural terrestrial mechanism and of the cosmic vibration which
order life.
CHAPTER 3
WATER
C. DEBUSSY – Jardins Sous La Pluie
An inverted rain proceeds upwards to recreate a constellation and a life outside
from the water.
The appearance of a BELOW and an ABOVE, like a primordial composition of the sky
and fauna, draws us into a poetic tale, which is almost a dance, of the first fusion
of the elements of WATER and AIR.
CHAPTER 4
AIR
HYUNG-KI JOO (1973) – Chandeliers
The air becomes the equivalent of the SOUL. A soul that is first “virtuous” and then is
"lost".
Man appears, born of the elements of the stars.
Movement, harmony and speed show the TIME OF NATURE and TIME
OF MAN.
Initially everything is in time, man, animals and plants proceed at a "speed"
sustainable for all dimensions. But things change when man, eager to
riches of various kinds, he begins to set his life on a very fast time that
it is no longer tolerable by all the beings around it. The car crashes and they start
to lose the connections between human beings and nature.
CHAPTER 5
AIR
C. DEBUSSY - Ce qu'a vu le vent d'Ouest
This time we tell the desperation from the point of view of Nature. We are located by
faced with the breakdown of COMMUNICATION with man.
A planetary electrocardiogram that becomes flat, two souls that don't
relate more by no means possible.
A technology that is no longer virtuous, but only used for enrichment purposes a
very short term, without a vision of growth aimed at the future.
CHAPTER 6
AIR
FABIO VACCHI (1949) – Echoes of shadows
A new era is upon us.
After the defeat of human actions, we are facing a rebirth, a reconstruction
of the "human" dimension which first of all passes through a new "technology
of the soul".
Now the conscience has all the elements to issue a new breath and lean into
virtuous way towards any type of invention that can improve the future of man.
CHAPTER 7
EARTH
F. LISZT – Après une lecture du Dante – Fantasy almost Sonata
Eventually, the Earth element merges with all other elements to transform into the
best form of himself.
Earth as REBIRTH.
Rebirth as light, knowledge, vision and virtue.
