Verdi Universale is the multimedia installation created by Imaginarium Studio for the 2022 edition of Verdi OFF, the series of fringe events accompanying the Verdi Festival in Parma. A work that combines physical set design, video mapping narration, and a soundtrack reworked by Davide Giannoni.
The concept is a journey through a mysterious cosmos where each planet is described by a Verdi composition: from the Triumphal March of Aida to the Prelude of La Traviata, from Rigoletto to the Overture of La forza del destino. At the centre of the installation, a gigantic papier-mâché head of Giuseppe Verdi crafted by Jacopo Allegrucci becomes the focal point onto which projections converge.
The original soundtrack reinterprets Verdi's themes in a contemporary key, creating a soundscape that guides the visitor along an interstellar itinerary. The result is an immersive experience that transforms the maestro's work into a cosmic voyage among planets, stars, and immortal melodies.
