VERTIGO is a performance project by Imaginarium — Francesca Pasquinucci and Davide Giannoni created the storytelling, drawings, animations, direction and original musical compositions. A live performance that addresses mental health, exploring polarity, depression, anxiety, alienation and isolation, leading to a poetic recomposition inspired by Kintsugi.
The project was born from a collaboration with the Fondazione Mario Tobino and the scientific contributions of Dr. Giorgio Pini, child neuropsychiatrist, and Dr. Giada Marini, psychiatrist. The performance unfolds in five chapters, each dedicated to a dimension of the psychic experience: from bipolar phases to the modulation of depression, from anxiety with its heartbeat to alienation with its irregular rhythms.
The final chapter is a recomposition inspired by Japanese Kintsugi: the art of repairing broken ceramics with gold, transforming the fracture into beauty. In this way, VERTIGO transforms the story of fragility into an act of shared strength with the audience.
“Fragility is not weakness. It is the crack where the light enters — and the gold of Kintsugi makes it precious.”
